There are several ways to lock your gear in Ylands, which can be important in a multiplayer game. Keys can be used to secure Chests, Doors, and furniture which has storage such as the Wooden Cabinet and several of the Wooden Tables and Iron Tables.
The containers Wicker Basket, Wooden Barrel, Sacks, Present Box, Wooden Box, Large Wooden Box, Steel Box, Wooden Table (Desk), Clay Pots and Clay Urns cannot be locked.
Once a key is used to lock an item, the player is given the opportunity to rename the key.
Keys can be duplicated by placing both the original key and a blank (or rusty) key in your inventory and then selecting the original key and clicking duplicate. You will then be given the option to name the new key. This will not work if either key is on a Key Chain.
