Armor protects the player from Damage.
For a complete list, click here. Scuba diving equipment or Water Breathing Potion can be used by the player to breath underwater for a short period of time. This is especially helpful to look at underwater Random Encounters.
Crafting recipes are locked in Exploration Mode until the player has all of the required materials in its Inventory. In Creative Mode/Sandbox and some servers, there is an option to unlock all recipes.

Energy Gates and Switches can be used to make more complex energy links.
The Protective Barrier Generator used in Exploration Mode is a very powerful tool for protecting an area from other players. The player can repair the Broken Protective Barrier Generator using an Iron Ingot and Any Hammer. Once placed, it cannot be moved.
Within the protective barrier in Exploration Mode, the player can capture Blueprints using the Blueprint Camera. These blueprints can be placed in any type of server (with the correct permissions) to quickly duplicate the original house or ship or other structure.
Within the protective barrier, the player can use the Demolition Hammer to destroy one block at a time and usually get back the materials used to make that block (with some exceptions).
A list of Items which are primarily used to inflict Damage on and/or kill other players and Animals. These include Swords, Firearms, Bows, Spears, Maces & Clubs, Cannons, Explosives, Staffs and Traps.
